Why audits still matter for small tools
Makeup brushes look simple, but shedding, loose ferrules and weak logo print are common complaint drivers. A short on-site visit or third-party inspection often reveals more than a polished website.
Process areas worth walking
Ask to see fibre preparation or incoming checks, ferrule assembly and crimping, gluing and curing, handle finishing, logo application and final packing. Watch whether in-process checks exist or only end-of-line sorting.
For custom shapes, ask how moulds are stored, identified and maintained — mixed or worn tooling is a frequent cause of dimensional drift.
Documents and tests
Request examples of inspection records, material declarations and any third-party test reports relevant to your market. Not every order needs a full chemical panel, but you should know what can be arranged and lead time for testing.
